2016 Recipients

Real Life Center

$1,500 While located in Peachtree City, 30 percent of their Financial Assistance Fund recipients are from Coweta County. These funds are used for utilities, groceries, temporary housing and medicine.

 

Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity

$1,500 These funds are used for their Handyman Program to assist Coweta Residents with minor repairs to their homes.

 

Coweta CASA

$5,000 Coweta CASA serves the foster children of Coweta County. The CASA’s are all volunteer and are required to have training to assist our counties children while in foster care.

 

Community Welcome House

$6,250 The Community Welcome House serves our communities women and children who are subject to Domestic Violence.

 

Coweta County Master Gardeners

$1,000 This grant is to update the nature trail signage that is used by the residents of Coweta County.

 

Southern Conservation Trust

$750 Southern Conservation Trust hosts summer camps for nature and conservation. 30 percent of their campers are from Coweta County. They will be individual children and Boy and Girl Scouts who will attend.

 

Meals On Wheels of Coweta

$2,000 They need general operating expenses for their part time staff to assist in meal preparation for the residents of Coweta who are served by the program.

 

Coweta STEM Institute

$4,000 This Mobile Maker program is providing over 4000 children in our community the ability to have hands on STEM science programs in the classroom. The Mobile Maker program will give students the ability to use Makey Makeys, 3D printing and robotics technologies.

 

CLICK

$1,600 CLICK is our adult education literacy program. This program is all volunteer and the volunteers need additional training to assist those coming thru the program to obtain their GED.

 

Continental Societies

$1,400 Continental Societies hosts an annual youth leadership program for at risk youth. The day consists of speakers from the county who are community leaders and an essential skills program to be leaders among their peers.

 

White Oak Elementary

$500 Through our classroom educational grants we are supporting a program for elementary school students to learn the basics of coding

 

Eastside Elementary School

$500 Through our educational grant program we are providing funds for STEM Lab Tables to conduct experiments in the safe and proper environment

 

East Coweta Middle School

$500 Through our classroom education grants, this will be providing support to purchase Solar Cars for learning about alternative energy and green technology
